This year has been a very important year for Germany-based footwear brand Adidas. Adidas has been making some very strategic moves throughout 2014 that include the signing of some big name collaborators including Kayne West, Bape founder Nigo, and of course, Skateboard P himself, Pharrell Williams. The addition of these 3 fashion icons to an already growing roster at Adidas is a monumental move on behalf of Adidas and is sure to pay off in the long run. It is hard to argue that anybody on the earth is more influential than Kanye West in todays fashion but you cannot talk about influence and fashion without Pharrell's name being brought up. Williams, who is already co-owner of both Ice Cream and Billionaire Boys Club is not new to the streetwear or footwear world, he's actually enjoyed great success in both areas and we should expect nothing less but more success as he moves forward with Adidas.
A few weeks back we got our first look at a collaborative effort between Pharrell and Adidas that came in the form of the Adidas Originals Stan Smith. The "Solids Pack" is just that, a solid, monochromatic 3 pack of Stan Smith's, each of which sports a different solid colored upper. An all red, all black, and all blue Stan Smith will make up the pack which utilizes a new 3 stripe logo on the heel and a special insole, both of which we can only assume were designed by Pharrell. A special edition set of 3 all leather Tre Foil Adidas track jackets were also made to be sold at Adidas retailers alongside the "Solids Pack" collection.
Pharrell is back at again with his 2nd collection from Adidas coming to retailers this weekend. The Pharrell Williams x Adidas Originals Stan Smith "Tennis" Pack is slated to release tomorrow, Saturday, October 11th at select Adidas retailers. Although not much information in relation to stocklists that will be carrying the pack, we received confirmation via High Snobiety. One look at this pack and it's easy to tell where the "Tennis" pack nickname comes from, each one of the three Stan Smiths sports an upper comprised of a felt-like, tennis ball feeling material. The pack will be available in 3 different make ups, an off white, fluorescent orange and my personal favorite the "tennis-ball" fluorescent green.
Take a look at the pictures below the second release from the Pharrell Williams x Adidas Originals collection, which comes in the form of the "Tennis" pack. The shoes will hit retailers tomorrow, Saturday, October 11th, no confirmation on stock lists has been confirmed but we have to assume most Adidas Consortium retailers will carry the pack both in-store and online. Stay tuned for any additional release info as we will update any info that becomes available before tomorrows release.
